The ultimate transitional piece is the Blanket Cape. Following the legendary style statements made at Burberry Prorsom this year – they are everywhere and are destined to be the hardest working item in your wardrobe.
Soft, beautiful, easy to wear, the Blanket Cape goes with everything and adds a certain put together chic. Combining elegant elements of the traditional Cape -yet with more coverage and giving you a touch of Boho that looks so wonderful this Autumn.
When its not actually cold enough for a long coat – think crunchy leaves and Autumn sunshine – slip on the Blanket Cape with Jackie O shades and a handheld bag. When the temperatures drop – layer up underneath – Perfect!
The stunning monogrammed Burberry beauty sold out almost straight away – but here are the All Things Stylish suggestions for couture cosy chic…..

Cool and VERY easy to wear – the Pinafore dress is back!
Last seen in the 90’s – you’ll find more variety with the 2013 version. Back then, a chic grey pinnie over a black tshirt was the epitome of cool. This time around its all about mixing it up. While black and navy totally rock – colour is where it starts to get fun.
So simple to style: do Rachel from Friends with a classic short tee underneath, or pair with a crisp white shirt for preppy cool. You could also go Kate Moss on a night out with a sparkly corset underneath…..
Dress up or down – this look is equally perfect over a bikini on holiday or a vest at home.
Get your Pinnie on!

With Spring almost here to stay – its time to look at the perfect transitional looks. These key pieces will take you right into Summer and with some adjustment you can wear them into Autumn too. While its still chilly outside, the flowers are blooming so lighten up the palate with shades of taupe and tan rather than the usual black for handbags and shoes. I pack up my heavier black handbags around March and bring out the classic beige leather numbers – try this sleek shoulder bag from H & M at £50. it’s a gorgeous nude shade, will go with everything and feels good on your arm.
Spring is all about the return to the Nude Ankle Boot and these are great. The perfect pale shade of beige, great stud detail and amazingly affordable – New Look at just £30.
Pastel Skinny Jeans are SO hot right now. These babies from Gap at £18 wont break the bank and come in an array of colours from mint to this incredible lilac – which is a major look for S/S13. They seriously lengthen legs and are perfect to team with chunky ankle boots now and pumps come Summer. The perfect way to ease into Spring.
Butterflies are everywhere at the moment – go for this delicious floaty blouse which totally channels Etro at a fraction of the price – just £33 from Wallis.
To complete the look – The Cape has returned!
The hardest working piece in your wardrobe will be the Cape. I’m loving this classic beige number from Coast £195. Fasten at the top and let it show off the rest of your ensemble……
Scarves are my favourite way to add to my seasonal look.
Add a chic butterfly piece – as above – £10 from Oasis – to a simple look for a up to date feel
Or a classic cashmere/silk scarf from Chan Luu above in Dusky Pink – £155 –Net-A-Porter – would complement the Butterfly blouse, brighen up your face and- double up as blanket for chilly alfresco Spring drinks!
