The M.O.D’s – the Models Off Duty. Effortless, stylish and very very cool. Its not just the endless legs and perfect skin – its the clothes. They always look so well put together but so relaxed. Many would argue that with designers at their disposal they will always look good – but most models often just work simple basics – styled well. A textured skirt, an awesome jacket, little boots.
H & M know this and have launched a fantastic range called The New Icons.
This pre Summer collection just hit stores and is inspired by real life models – Joan Smalls, Daphne Groeneveld, Lindsey Wixon and Liu Wen – who are showcasing the collection. Statement tees, ankle boots, long skirts, the ultimate leather jacket, fringed bags, an on trend lace mini and wide brimmed hat – classic with a boho feel. Inspired by the girls own wardrobes. Perfect for all the Summer festivals. Wearable, affordable, well done H & M!

With Spring almost here to stay – its time to look at the perfect transitional looks. These key pieces will take you right into Summer and with some adjustment you can wear them into Autumn too. While its still chilly outside, the flowers are blooming so lighten up the palate with shades of taupe and tan rather than the usual black for handbags and shoes. I pack up my heavier black handbags around March and bring out the classic beige leather numbers – try this sleek shoulder bag from H & M at £50. it’s a gorgeous nude shade, will go with everything and feels good on your arm.
Spring is all about the return to the Nude Ankle Boot and these are great. The perfect pale shade of beige, great stud detail and amazingly affordable – New Look at just £30.
Pastel Skinny Jeans are SO hot right now. These babies from Gap at £18 wont break the bank and come in an array of colours from mint to this incredible lilac – which is a major look for S/S13. They seriously lengthen legs and are perfect to team with chunky ankle boots now and pumps come Summer. The perfect way to ease into Spring.
Butterflies are everywhere at the moment – go for this delicious floaty blouse which totally channels Etro at a fraction of the price – just £33 from Wallis.
To complete the look – The Cape has returned!
The hardest working piece in your wardrobe will be the Cape. I’m loving this classic beige number from Coast £195. Fasten at the top and let it show off the rest of your ensemble……
Scarves are my favourite way to add to my seasonal look.
Add a chic butterfly piece – as above – £10 from Oasis – to a simple look for a up to date feel
Or a classic cashmere/silk scarf from Chan Luu above in Dusky Pink – £155 –Net-A-Porter – would complement the Butterfly blouse, brighen up your face and- double up as blanket for chilly alfresco Spring drinks!
