International Kissing Day!! Saturday 6th July 2013

Pucker up people! It’s International Kissing Day tomorrow – so prep those lips and get kissing!

LUSH are proud supporters of the Be Cruelty-Free campaign and are attempting to break the current Guinness World Record for the most lip-prints collected in 12 hours.  Help them by popping along to a Lush store tomorrow morning and polish, paint and plant your lip print – and make history!

I LOVE the Lush lip products and use them regularly to keep my lips smooth. The scrub is gentle and tastes incredible (you lick the excess off – wow!) the balm is very softening and once its all sunk in, slick on the gorgeous lip colours from Emotional Brilliance. I’m a big fan, usually wearing Bubbly (its been my Summer style staple so far) but chose Power this time, a stunning red shot through with rose gold. The lip paint is so unusual as it stains but shimmers. Really good for day long wear as it softly fades out without any harsh lines.

Be Cruelty-Free is the largest global campaign to end animal testing of cosmetics worldwide, combining awareness raising with political lobbying and scientific outreach. Help the cause and get kissing!

Drop into your local LUSH store tomorrow Saturday 6th July from 11am or join in online…..

Pastel Blocking

It’s the softer way to celebrate Summer. Pretty pastel pieces in sherbet shades. Edge up your pretty – the block adds cool…

Think candy coloured ice cream and let the pretty shades of pale highlight each other in contrast. The genius is in the simplicity -work a pastel block dress or do it yourself = combine a plain tee and skirt, choose stunning skinny jeans – pick your pastels and mix it up. So easy to wear. Accessories rock – add a statement ring or bracelet to get the look or go head to toe colour.

If they contrast – combine!

Acupuncture – Review

So, yesterday I decided to pluck up the courage to try acupuncture for the first time. I honestly had been dying to try it out for a while as my friends swear by it. Unfortunately for me I suffer from needle fear – and by that I mean petrified!!

I decided to take the plunge and made an appointment with WellStream Acupuncture on Larchmont Blvd, Los Angeles

Upon arrival I was greeted by my therapist, Cindy. A lovely lady, who I must also add was also extremely patient with me and my fear. I felt at home immediately after walking through the door. The decor is very zen and it helped transport me into a relaxed, calm mindset.

WellStream Acupuncture, Cindy Albon LAc, MSOM

After Cindy and I talked through my concerns and ailments if was time to get started.

So the question was : does acupuncture hurt?

Honestly the answer is – sometimes. It depends on what is being worked on. The first thing you have to know and understand is that acupuncture does not use sewing needles or injection needles. Those needles are HUGE compared to acupuncture needles. Acupuncture needles are as thin a hair and are very sharp, because of this they usually do not cause any pain upon insertion. I was really surprised.

I would 100% try acupuncture again and I would actually love to try the facial before I start experimenting with botox 😉 I am converted!!!

I felt so relaxed after my treatment and I slept like a baby later that evening. My sinuses stopped hurting  and I feel fabulous 🙂

I would highly recommended trying acupuncture and Cindy was amazing.

If you are in the LA area give them a call and book in – You won’t regret it!
